Seven new members were initiated into the Gamma Zeta chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.
Dr. Jensi Souders, Southeast Region Director and Xi State Executive Secretary, initiated the new members in a beautiful ceremony at “The Open Door Café” in Athens, TN.

Alpha Gamma Chapter held their September meeting at the home of President Marylin Roberts. The meeting began with a reception honoring Alpha Gamma’s GeorgiaAnn Boles, Xi State Rome recipient. Gamma Nu member Edna Rogers has been inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame in Emporia, Kansas. Rogers was one of five teachers from across the country who were inducted during a ceremony held at Emporia State University Teachers College, which houses the Hall of Fame.
A $1,000 scholarship was awarded in Rogers' name to one of her former kindergarten students, Leigh Anna Brett, who graduated from Sevier County High School and will attend Maryville College to become a teacher.
Rogers also received $1,000 worth of equipment from Sodexho which was donated to Sevierville Primary School, as well as a Hall of Fame ring. |
