Nomination Guidelines

Any member of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International may recommend a candidate for any Xi State elective office, and for membership on the Xi State Nominations, Finance, and Personnel Committees.
Permission of the nominee must be secured before her name is recommended to the Nominations Committee or nominated from the floor.
All recommendations should be coordinated through the Nominations Committee at chapter, state, and international levels.
The office/committee position for which the person is nominated should be stated.
The nominee should be fitted for the work of the position for which she is being recommended.
Letters supporting the official recommendation are acceptable and helpful if they provide pertinent additional information.
The first and second vice-presidents do not automatically advance to the presidency.
The Nominations Committee reserves the right to place a name in nomination for a position other than that recommended.
The names of the candidates not nominated may be given to the incoming Nominations Committee and to the incoming president for possible use for offices and committee assignments.
For the 2011-2013 biennium, one member from each grand division will be nominated for a four-year term for each of the committees.
Two members from each grand division are nominated each biennium for service on the state Nominations Committee. One member, from any of the divisions, is nominated to serve as the Nominations Committee Chairman.
The consent of the nominee is necessary before placing the name in nomination.
Recommendations/endorsements shall be received no earlier than March 1 of even numbered years.
The Nominations Committee Chairman shall send the biographical sketches of those nominated to the Editor of Xi State News for publication in the first issue of the calendar year in which the nominations are made.
The Nominations Committee is responsible for planning the ceremony and installing the officers at the State Convention.
