Delta Kappa Gamma International Convention -- Chicago 2008
Chicago, Illinois, was the scene of the 2008 International Convention. Well over 100 Xi State members gathered July 22-26 with over 3,000 other "key women educators" from 16 countries for an outstanding convention. The theme of the convention was "Leading with Wisdom & Passion" and lead we did!
Xi State members led workshop sessions and manned the TN booth. Dr. Jensi Souders was installed as International First Vice President, Elaine Warwick began her 4-year term on the International Personnel Committee, and Dee Rives served as an official timekeeper during the proceedings. Nancy Leach was honored as Tennessee's Shining Star at the SE Regional Breakfast while "Dolly Parton" (Charlotte Cain) was the hit at the Tennessee Breakfast.
Members came away from the convention refreshed, enthused, and excited. Armed with new ideas to use in the classroom and information about the future direction of the Society, members returned to Tennessee filled with both "wisdom" and a "passion" for keeping Xi State strong!
